PCJL: Jewish Woman’s Resource Center
The Jewish Woman’s Resource Center aims to connect and support Jewish Women at the University of Pennsylvania. Our goal is provide women with the resource that will help them to learn how to integrate Jewish values and traditions into their pursuit of a career. The Center will foster a bond among female Jewish students, faculty, and alumni at Penn through conferences, workshops, and mentorships, as well as networking sessions via events designed to introduce participants to female business leaders and role models across the country.

PCJL Board of Directors Member, Boris Kalandar proposed this project as a means to connect the thousands of Jewish Women from across the country that converge each semester on the University of Pennsylvania campus. Mr. Kalandar envisions The Jewish Woman’s Resource Center as a place where Jewish women become empowered academically and spiritually as they make career choices and connect with their Jewish heritage. He is dedicating the center to the blessed memory of his daughter, Miriam Masha Dexter, z”l.

The Jewish Woman’s Resource Center will be housed in the soon-to-be- renovated Perelman Center for Jewish Life, PCJL. PCJL is the home to Lubavitch House at Penn and the Steinhardt/Cayne Jewish Heritage Programs.

The women at the University of Pennsylvania are a noteworthy cross section of the over seven million women currently enrolled in America’s colleges. PCJL: Jewish Women’s Resource Center offers the women on our campus:

• the means to face the challenges to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle

• conferences, workshops and mentorships that will strengthen self-esteem, and address personal issues, while helping college and university women discover who they can become in a changing world

• provides women with the tools needed to face the behaviors that will influence who they will be for the rest of their lives
